What is WhirlyBall anyway?

WhirlyBall™ is a combination of Basketball, Lacrosse and bumper cars. The mechanized vehicle each team member operates is also known as a WhirlyBug. Although the WhirlyBug resembles a bumper car, it is a far superior machine. Using a crank-like wheel, you will be able to turn sharper and move faster, focusing more on scoring with your Lacrosse-like scoop. Each person is equipped with a WhirlyBug and a scoop. Yeah, sounds strange, but you and everyone else on the floor are equally matched so the game only gets more fun as time goes on.

Please arrive on time so that a referee can go over all the rules and regulations. You will be instructed on how to use the equipment properly and especially on how to drive your WhirlyBug. What at first may seem confusing becomes second nature as you continue to play. Remember, you and all others on the court are in this together. The referee watches the game from an elevated booth and keeps score. He has a microphone to report all penalties.
